For me art represents an enlightened sense of joy and freedom to create that which has never been done before. It is visceral to draw a line as though with a touch of a feather and then with the weight and heaviness of a hammer.

The Impressionists and Japanese artists have greatly inspired me. The Impressionists reacted to their subject matter quickly and spontaneously. The Japanese, on the other hand, painted simply and decoratively. I find both concepts exhilarating; suiting my temperament exactly!

In retrospect, I can say that drawing and painting has been more fulfilling in every aspect of accomplishment than the
remembrance of my days as a professional baseball player and as a golfer capable of shooting sub par rounds of golf.
I am truly grateful that the art I have created and will be leaving will be the clearest evidence of my existence.
